The ladies choir was established in 2013 and continues its success

There are three terms, Autumn/Winter, Spring, Summer

Each term takes a half term break with each term ending around the time when school holidays occur

Song repertoire provides a varied programme of music rhythms and lyrics

During the past 12 years the choir is delighted to have performed in our own concerts as well as for many years participating in the

York Community Choir Festival held at Joseph Rowntree Theatre

Each of our concerts are enjoyed by well attended audiences and over the years the Raffle sales from each concert have given us the opportunity and pleasure to donate to York based charities:

St. Leonards Hospice York

St. Nicholas Church, Wigginton

Hands and Voices York helping disabled young and adult people to sing and sign, as well as enjoying creative sensory

HOPING Street Kitchens York serving hot food to the homeless at King's Manor, York every Sunday

Musical Director

Amanda has taught singing for many years, both privately and in colleges and universities, including York University. She currently teaches at Leeds University and York College, where she was a voice tutor for the Music Theatre courses for some years. She runs regular singing days and workshops.

She has also devised and led workshops for companies wishing to improve management presentation and voice skills – such companies include VISA International, Yorkshire Water, BMW and Nissan.

As a recitalist, Amanda has sung music from across the centuries from plain song to contemporary music and theatre music by Cole Porter, Gershwin and Flanders & Swann, and sung in many languages, even Japanese and Norwegian! She continues to give concerts and recitals, and regularly works with the Fairfax Ensemble with whom she recorded a CD of Mozart and his contemporaries using an 1828 Haxby square piano.

Amanda Crawley

Our Musical Director Amanda Crawley, born and educated in London, is an experienced vocal tutor and choir director. As well as directing the Euphonics Choir, she currently conducts the Jubilate (Easingwold), SoundsFun (York) and Accidentals (Harrogate Music Centre). She has run two community choir projects with York Theatre Royal and Harrogate Theatre, each project resulting in choirs being formed.

“Under Amanda’s lively leadership, Euphonics enjoys performing a variety of music from folk and gospel songs to jazz and songs from the shows”
